Well, it’s official

I’ve been meaning to write about a semi-inadvertent comparison I made between Flair and Westjet a couple of years ago (spoiler alert: I’ll never ever fly Flair again, and Westjet was only marginally better), but here I am at YYZ and I absolutely guarantee I’ll also never fly Porter Airlines again.

We arrived early, of course, and the first thing we find out is that our flight is delayed, by half an hour to start with, but I’m not betting on them sticking to that.

Then we have to move gates, from B3 to B37. In case you’re not aware, that’s all the way from one end of the terminal, back past security, and on to the other end of the terminal.

And this is on top of another complaint I have about Porter Airlines from last year, which I’m also working on documenting. Let’s just say that it’s closely connected to my previous complaints about the supposedly “universal” Canadian medical system. And let’s just say that you can technically get a refund, but you first have to thread a bunch of needles in a very specific order for that to happen.

I’m not impressed. I fully realise that others have had far worse experiences in the Canadian transportation system, but I’m putting my experiences out there for everyone to learn from.
